about

'One In A Million' is the debut US EP release from ODi.

ODi is a singer, songwriter and musician hailing from Wexford, Ireland who manages to blend elements of Joan Armatrading's pathos, Beth Orton's eye for the quirky and deep with a touch of Dido's bed-sit romance to produce a unique and captivating sound. Spellbinding Vocals and beautifully crafted songs lie at the very heart of her music.

The Irish Songstress writes, records, and performs with musical collaborator and sidekick Dave Redfearn. The duo thrive in the live setting and have just completed their second tour on US soil with a string of successful acoustic shows in California & Arizona during September 2013.

This most recent tour has seen ODi's burgeoning Stateside fan base develop following on from dates across Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and N&S Carolina in the Fall of 2012.

This collection of 4 songs is the first in a series of EPs planned for US release over the next year through the 2HOOTS label, showcasing a selection of tracks taken from ODi's debut release in the UK & Ireland.

The EP features musical contributions from Colm Mac Iomaire, violin player for The Frames & The Swell Season and production from Karl Odlum (Fionn Regan, The Frames, Mic Christopher, Mark Geary, Gemma Hayes)

The EP is available from bandcamp now and is released officially on 02/10/2014 through iTunes and all major download stores in the lead up to ODi's next tour dates in the USA.

Track Name: One In A Million
Found myself down by the water
Found myself down by the sea
Trying to feel what I ought to feel
But nothing's coming to me
I watch the ranks of waves come in
And go defeated back again

You're just one in a million
Like all this sand unfamiliar
But you've got something that's different at least

Swam for a while in the water
Swam for a while in the sea
Tried not to feel that there's more to feel
Than the cold that's swimming round me
The sea just wants to hold the land
But how do you hold the shifting sand?

You're just one in a million
Like all this sand unfamiliar
But you've got something that's different at least

You kept the waves from my shore
You keep the weather outdoors
You kept me warm, gave me more than I asked for

Found myself down by the water
Found myself down by the sea
Found myself watching the moon come up
And found you there waiting for me.

You're just one in a million
Like all this sand unfamiliar
But you've got something that's different at least
Track Name: You Win But You Lose
Your day goes by
The same old way
You try to make it happen
You play the game
You wear your smile
Still trying to make it happen

You win but you lose
And you try to refuse
All those things that she said
Going round in your head
And you knew that this time
Should've made up your mind
But all you can do
Is try to hold on
Hold on

You get up late
Your day goes by
Still try to make it happen
You play the game
Still wear your smile
Still trying to make it happen

You win but you lose
And you try to refuse
All those things that she said
Still Going round in your head
And you knew that this time
Should've made up your mind
But all you can do
Is try to hold on
Hold on...
Track Name: Tears & Wine
She bought a bottle of wine
And she drank to forget
All those moves that he made
All those things that he said
Like the picture she paints
He left her black and blue

So she drove to the sun
Hung her heart out to dry
That had drowned in his love, in her tears and her wine
Like the picture she paints
He left her black and blue

The colours she's bleeding
They run and they stain
Just like the pictures she paints
He left her black and blue...
